Summary

My lecturer gave me another assigment for summarizing a passage. Here is it:

• The English wewe not the first Europeans to land their ships on America soil but the thirteen English colonies that would later be establish eventually became the United States of America.
• Sir Walter Raleigh sent an expedition team to found an English colony in North America led by Sir Grenville.
• When the English reached small island called Roanoke, the English thought that the Aquascogoc -the Native American tribe stole their silver cup and burned the Aquascogoc village.
• Because of they're hungry and didn't found silver snd gold, Grenville return to England and gradually abondoned his colony.
• When Sir Walter Raleigh dispatched a further expedition in 1587 they have a trouble with the Native American. John White, the leader sail back to ask for help and left his colonists and his daughter and granddaughter.
• When he returned to Roanoke three years later after preparing for a naval war, he can't found his daughter, granddaughter, and his colony.
• No further trace of the lost colony has ever been found and no one knows what happened to the colonists.

Summary

The Challenger Disaster by Mary Jones

 

By 1984, NASA, the United States space program, had carried out many successful flights of the space shuttle. In fact, Americans were beginning to take the whole NASA program for granted. Then, the president announced that the next shuttle would carry a school teacher into space. Hundreds of teachers from all parts of the country applied for the job. They all wanted to be “the first teacher in space.” During the next year, these adventurous educators were tested and examined and trained. At last, the choice was announced. A teacher from New Hampshire, Christa MacAuliffe, would be the first teacher-astronaut.

Summary: Christa Mac Auliffe would be the first teacher-astronaut.

Many months of preparation and training followed the announcement. First, Christa went through intensive physical training. She had to be in top condition for the flight. Then she learned how to operate some of the delicate instruments on the Challenger space shuttle. Christa planned special lesions, which she would teach from space. Finally, she trained with the astronauts, so they could work as a team in space.

Summary: Many months of preparation and training.

Everyone knows what happened on that terrible day in January, 1986. Early in the morning, the Challenger crew had a good breakfast and discussed their plans. They made sure they understood all of the work they would be doing during the flight. Later, they boarded a special

van, which carried them to the shuttle. The weather was rather cold, and some NASA officials wondered if they should put off the flight. After some discussion, they decided to go ahead. The Challenger took off over the Atlantic Ocean in Florida. Minutes later, it exploded in the air. All the crew members died in the crash.

Summary: The Challenger exploded in the air after a minutes aired.

Book Report

Charlie and The Great Glass Elevator

Charlie and The Great Glass Elevator is a sequel book from Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, continuing the story od Charlie Bucket and Willy Wonka the owner of the great chocolate factory. This childern’s book is written by Ronald Dahl and Quentin Blake as ilustrator. 

This book tells us about Charlie’s adventure with The Great Glass Elevator. After Charlie got the ownership of Willy Wonka’s chocolate vactory they crash trough the roof of Charlie’s family’s house in a flaying Elevator to inform the good news to his family and to take them to the Charlie’s chocolate factory. But when they’re heading to the factory, Grandma Josephine draws Willy Wonka concentration to controls the elevator and sent them into extra-atmospheric orbit. Wonka’s Elevator was not the only thing orbitin gin that particular time. There are United States of America’s Space Hotel called “U.S.A.”

When Wonka’s elevator going dock with the Space Hotel, the Transport Capsule containing the entire staff for Space Hotel and the guests who heading to the Space Hotel saw that and inform it to Ground Control. In the White House, President of the United States Lancelot R. Gilligrass and his staff thought that Charlie and the others was an astrounaut in disguise that going to blow up the Space Hotel

On the Hotel, when the President talks trough radio link to warn Wonka and the others, suddenly a gigantic amoeba called Vermicious Knids came up. Recognising the dangerous, Wonka orders everybody to leave the Space Hotel. When they’re leaving the Space Hotel, the Transport Capsule aboard and the Knids chase for them. As Wonka save the Transport Capsule, they are success to return the Elevator to Earth.

On Charlie factory, Wonka gave Charlie’s Grandparents a rejuvenator pil that can makes their young again called Wonka-Vite. But the problem is they took the pil to much and lose eighty years that making Grandpa George one year old, Grandma Josephine three months, and Grandma Georgina disappear. Then Charlie have to journey in the Great Glass Elevator to Minusland where Wonka restores Grandma Georgina with Vita-Wonk formula. Using this formula either, Grandpa George and Grandma Josephine will be able to back to their original age. 

This is good to read to you who loved adventure story and curious about Charlie’s adventure after got the ownership of Wonka’s Chocolate Factory.

Movie Review: Exam (2009)

Exam is a physchological thriller film directed by Hazeldine and written by Simon Garrity and Stuart Hazeldine. Starring by Luke Malby, Nathalie Cox, John Lloyd Fillingham, Jimi Mistry and Adar Beck. With the runtime 101 minuts, this film tells about 8 candidates who did the final test to gets the important position in a mysterious and powerfull corporation.

Locked together in an exam room, they seated in a different desk and given an exam paper and a few simple rules. The Invigilator explains the rules that they can't talk to the administrator or the armed guard at the door, spoil their paper, or leave the room. If they do that, they will be disqualified. There is no laws in the room. The only laws is the rules.

There's only one question and one answer is required. They only need to answer the question in 80 minutes to pass the test. It seems like a simple test, but it's not so simple. As the time started they turns their paper but there is no question there, no writing, and no clue what is the next step. 

One of the candidates immediately disqualified for spoiling her paper by writing "I believe I deserve...". The remaining candidates realize that they can talk to each other and they decide to work together to figure out wht is the question and then they can compete to answer it. The candidates tried anything to reveal the question on the paper. They use the light, body fluids, and fire sprinkles but nothing happened. The tensions begin to rise as the time is running out and the candidates become desperate to figure out what the queston is.

So what is the real question? Who is finally passes the exam and gets the job?

This film is interesting. It makes you wondering abput what is going on and what the question is. It's unpredictable and one worth watching film.

How to make a delicious Fruit Salad

Couple days ago my family and I went to my aunt’s house. It’s a very hot day. She told me to made fruit salad for all of us. I don't know anything about the recipe or how to make it. However with her guidance I made a delicious Fruit Salad. Here's the recipe:

Ingredients:

•  1 cups cubed unpeeled red apple.      
•  1 cups cubed melon.
•  1 cups cubed pear.
•  1/2 cups strawberry.
•  1/2 cups grape.
•  1 cups cubed watermelon.
•  1 cups cubed mango.

Mayonnaise Sauce:

•  5 tablespoons Mayonnaise
•  3 tablespoons Creamer Milk
•  Cheddar Cheese, grated.

Steps:

• In a large bowl, mix all of the fruits.
• Pour mayonnaise, creamer milk, and grated cheese.
• Mix until everything is blended.
• Chill until ready to serve.
• Sprinkle grated cheese.

It’s just a simple recipe, but it’s very delicious. Especially when you eat it in a hot day.

Grammatical Error on Social Media Status

Nowdays almost every people has at least 1 social media account, right?

But some of them who write their status in English doesn’t pay attention with their grammar. This is what happened:

Today, when I wake up in the morning, I heard my brother's voice. He came home. Oh my God. I miss him so much. I'm very happy when he came home for his holiday. It was surprising, because he didn't told anyone that he will came home on this weekend.
After he took a rest for a while, in the afternoon we went to the amusement park. My brother, his girlfriend, her sister, and I visited Sindu Kusuma Edupark.
I know it was crazy that we went to the amusement park in the middle of the day when the sun was directly above our head. But it was so fun.
We rode some vehicle like Ferrish Wheel, the highest one in Jogjakarta. When we rode the Ferrish Wheel my brother looks a little worried because this vehicle is very high. You can see everything from the top of it. It was funny when I saw my brother’s face when we reach the highest point in the Ferrish Wheel.
After that we rode Swinger, flying chairs that flew us away. We scream out  loud when we rode this vehicle. The third we rode the Flying Bicycle. This vehicle is above the rails with a height of 3 meters and 100 meter long rails. The last we tried the Segway. But because of the poin in the voucher that we have is not sufficient if the four of us tried to ride it, so it’s just me and my sister who tried this vehicle.
After rode some vehicles, we ate some food and then we came home. What a tiring day! But it was so fun. I hope my brother and I can explore another part of Jogja next time.

Pengalaman Masa SMA Ku

Haiii..

      SMA 11 Yogyakarta. SMA yang cukup besar yang berada di tengah kota Yogyakarta. Di SMA inilah aku bersekolah. Walaupun bukan SMA favorit, tapi de sekolah ini aku banyak dapet kenangan. Susah atau seneng semuanya ada di sini. Dan di tulisan pertamaku ini, aku mau nyeritain pengalamanku selama sekolah di sini..

Sepef (XF)
      Di kelas ini aku pertama kali memulai masa-masa SMA. Anak-anak Sepef cukup kompak dan kita pernah dapet nominasi kelas Teraktif waktu MOPDB. Kelas ini juga banyak ngasih kejutan waktu MOPDB ataupun PGK (Pekan Gladi Kepemimpinan). Banyak kenangan di kelas ini. Mulai dari temen yang asalnya dari Afrika, temen yang jail banget, sampai sebutan-sebutan lucu buat beberapa temen. Walaupun banyak yang jail, tapi aku seneng menjadi bagian dari kelas ini. Karena kelas ini adalah kelas yang peduli sama temen-temennya. Kita semua tau hari ulang tahun temen sekelas. Dan kita selalu ngasih kejutan buat yang lagi ulang tahun.

Roste (XI IPA 3)
      Di kelas ini temenku tambah banyak. Kelas ini adalah kelas yang seru. Ada temen-temen yang gokil, pendiem, suka tidur dikelas, temen yang pinter, ada yang suka nyanyi-nyanyi sendiri, pokoknya lengkap. Kelas ini juga punya banyak mainan yang sering di mainin bareng-bareng. Uno, remi, ToD, sampe monopoli. Nggak pas istirahat, jam kosong, pelajaran, ataupun pulang sekolah. Bahkan kita pernah di usir sama penjaga sekolah karna kelasnya mau di kunci dan kita akhirnya pindah di tangga. hehehe :D
      Oya. Kita juga pernah dapet tugas bikin drama musikal. Kita bareng bareng nyiapin semuanya. Pembagian peran, atihan hampir setiap hari, bikin property, edit naskah berkali-kali, ribet cari lagu dan kostum. tapi akhirnya usaha kita nggak sia-sia. Pas penilaian, kita semua dapet nilai 100. Wow.. kita semua bener-bener seneng banget.
      Kenangannya nggak cuma di situ aja. Di pertengahan bulan Maret, murid SMA 11 angkatan 2015 bareng-bareng study tour ke Bali. Di saat ada anak kelas lain yang nggak ikut, kelas ini adalah satu-satunya kelas yang paling lengkap. dan untungnya kita semua juga ada di bis yang sama. Selama study tour kita seru-seruan bareng. Nyanyi-nyanyi di bis, main Uno di bis, bikin ribut, sampe nggodain tour guidenya. Kita juga jalan-jalan dan foto-foto bareng di beberapa tempat di Bali. Bahkan kita juga sempet main kartu di kapal waktu kapalnya nyebrang. Tapi walaupun gitu, ada beberapa insiden yang bikin kita semua bad mood. Berawal dari bis yang macet dipelabuhan, sempit-sempitan nebeng di bis lain, sampe ada bis yang di tabrak motor. Tapi kita semua tetep bisa menikmati study tour kita.
      Dan di akhir tahun ajaran baru, sayangnya kita semua nggak jadi satu lagi. Walaupun berat, tapi ya gimana lagi. Udah jadi keputusan sekolah.

Apatis (XII IPA 4)
      Yup! Di kelas ini aku menjalani masa-masa terakhir di SMA. Walaupun awalnya harus menyesuaikan diri lagi sama temen-temen baru, aku akhirnya bisa berbaur sama mereka semua. Disini aku juga ketemu sama temen-temen yang seru-seru, suka bikin ribut, suka main dan jalan-jalan, suka bawa makanan, tidur dikelas. Kenangan pertamaku di kelas ini adalah saat kita semua ikut acara karnaval Lustrum sekolah. Kita semua kompak pake baju bertema Hippie. Banyak kenangan di kelas ini. Ketemu 11 jam dalam sehari (termasuk pm) mbikin kita jadi makin deket satu sama lain.

      Di sekolah ini terukir banyak banget kenangan. Dan akan terus berlanjut sampai akhirnya kita semua akan berpisah nantinya :'). Well... itulah cerita ku tentang kelas-kelas dimana aku berada dengan segala kisah yang aku lalui.
